de Havilland Beaver - N985P
The de Havilland Canada DHC-2 MK Beaver is an eight-seat, single-engine, high-wing aircraft, first built by de Havilland Canada in 1948. Over twenty years, 1,657 Beavers were produced by de Havilland Canada until production ended in 1967. Kenmore Air still operates Beaver airframes that have been upgraded and improved. N985P, also known as the “Green Hornet,” is based in Washington state.
Originally delivered to the UK for military service, the “Green Hornet” is a float plane that now flies frequently in the Pacific Northwest. Powered by a P&W 985 putting out 450 hp, it has a five-hour cruise endurance with a range of approximately 500nm.
